Emergency Medical Services for Events of All Sizes
Count on ALTOR’s Multi-Faceted Approach to Keep Your Attendees Safe
We offer On-Site Professional Medics
At ALTOR Emergency Medical Services, we understand that each event is unique, and we accommodate this variety with a threefold strategy. First, guided by the South African National Standard (SANS) matrix and the Safety at Sports and Recreational Events Act, we ensure the correct medical deployment for each event by doing a thorough risk analysis. Second, we employ a practical approach where ALTOR’s owners and managers (who often form part of the on-site team) provide essential insights to each event that competitors cannot match. Third, our extensive network of medical, business and health and safety professionals equip us to tailor an approach that fulfils all client needs including key deliverables and budget, while mitigating the risk carried by the client.
Why Altor EMS?

Did You Know?
Co-ordinated medical risk management is a legal requirement for all public events, BUT different events have varied medical and safety requirements.
Medical and safety criteria are determined by the size and nature of the event, and it is important to note that not all medics have the same level of training and treatment capabilities.
The Health Professionals Council of South Africa (HPCSA) prescribe specific guidelines for the scope of practice at each level.
There can be significant ethical and legal implications for medical personnel when medics are found to be practicing outside their scope.
ALTOR EMS are the Leading Event Medical Service
Many clients and event organizers are unaware that not all medical staff (or medics) are equal, but instead vary greatly in both level of training and capabilities. The Health Professionals Council of South Africa sets out guidelines as to the skills and competencies performed by each level of medic. There may be significant ethical and legal implications if a medic is found to be practicing outside their scope.
The below is a brief description of each level of medic, hopefully this will assist you as the client to make an informed decision.
